How to Buy Another Happy Client

All the work we produce is individually custom made. Pieces that are available for purchase are shown in the gallery.

You may wish to commission a custom design based on a photo, an artwork or your own design concept.

In either case, the first step is to contact Susan directly.

A custom design means that you get the glass you want in the design you want to fit in the space you want. We listen to our customer's wants and needs very closely to create a work of art that will add colour,  brilliance and atmosphere to the space in which it is installed.

Steps for a custom design:

  • Contact Susan by phone or e-mail.
  • Arrange for Susan to visit the location where the piece will be installed, or supply photographs of the location where the piece will be installed.
  • Susan will work with you to develop a design concept for the piece.
  • Susan will produce a colour drawing of the design on paper at 100% scale, and submit it to you for approval, either in person or by e-mailing a photograph of the drawing.
  • Upon approval, Susan will build the piece in her studio. You are encouraged to visit the studio to select glass from available inventory.
  • During construction, you may wish to consider other options such as placing the glass in a triple-glazed sealed unit for use in an exterior window, or various framing options. A light box or light panel may also be added.
  • Upon completion, we strongly encourage you to visit the studio to pick up the glass in person. If this is not possible, we can discuss shipping arrangements (see below).

Cost

The cost of a piece is affected by its size and the number of pieces of glass it contains, or its complexity. For this reason, the price per square inch is not fixed.

Once you approve the design, Susan will give the estimated cost to produce the piece. The estimated cost will include up to three hours of consulting by telephone or in person to review the design, select glass, etc. Additional time will be added to the price of the piece at $35 per hour.

A 50% deposit on the estimated cost of the glass piece is required to begin construction. The balance, plus the cost of any options or additional consulting time, is due upon completion of the piece.

Shipping

We pack our pieces very carefully for shipping. Pieces will be insured and the cost will be added to the shipping cost.

The costs of building a shipping container, insuring and shipping the glass piece are not included in the estimated cost of the piece. Charges must be paid up front before the piece will be shipped.
